Private Label Sauna Project Brief: What the Factory Needs

Private label work moves faster when the first conversation is a project brief rather than a request for a logo price. The factory needs to understand what product is being configured, which market it will serve and how the finished carton should arrive at the buyer. Those answers determine whether the project is a simple ODM configuration or needs an OEM sample.

Start with the commercial basics

  • Product line and preferred model
  • Destination country or region
  • Expected first order and repeat order volume
  • Voltage and plug requirement
  • Required launch or shipment date
  • Whether packaging is standard or fully private label

Do not stop at broad phrases such as a full private label programme. The factory needs to know which surfaces carry the brand and which printed items are controlled by the buyer. A blanket range and an outdoor tent range have different accessory and packaging possibilities, so the brief should stay model-specific.

What can private label cover?

In this catalogue, private label can cover brand placement on the shell, carry bag and carton artwork. Fabric colour, logo placement, controller configuration, voltage and packaging are confirmed before production. Structural changes belong in an OEM discussion; they should not be implied by a request for a different logo.

Which details belong on the artwork sheet?

Agree the logo file, colour reference, position, size and production method for each surface. For the carton, confirm the model name, product identification, required handling marks and any buyer-specific labels. Keep the approved artwork beside the approved sample so the production and packing teams are not reading from different versions.

What about electrical and compliance requirements?

The destination market determines the voltage, plug and documents that should accompany the shipment. The current compliance package includes EMC, LVD, FCC SDoC and RoHS documents for the sauna blanket range; do not assume the same document set automatically covers a steam room, tent or stove. Confirm the exact model and market with the project brief.

What should be approved before production?

Approve the physical sample, final specification sheet, logo placement, carton artwork, accessory list and packaging photographs. If the project includes a new carton, approve a production-intent proof rather than a low-resolution preview. If it includes a new controller or voltage configuration, approve that version on the sample.

A useful private label brief answers three questions on one page: what is being sold, where it will be sold, and what must carry the buyer's brand. Everything else follows from those answers.
