Traditional vs Infrared Sauna: A Product Guide for Wholesale Buyers

Traditional vs infrared is a common search phrase, but the comparison mixes several product formats. A traditional sauna usually means a heated room, while infrared often describes a blanket or panel that heats through electric elements. For a wholesale buyer, the clearer question is: what setting, heat source and carton profile fit the market you are serving?

Portable steam sauna room

This is an indoor fabric room around a stainless steel frame, heated by a steam generator. The portable rooms in the current range use a 3.0 L generator and are supplied with steam hoses, a steamer, a foldable chair and a remote control. Square, pentagon and red light versions can sit in the same retail programme, with model-level differences in accessories and dimensions.

Stove-heated outdoor sauna tent

An outdoor tent uses a padded Oxford shell over a fibreglass frame and a wood burning stove rather than an electric steam generator. The tent and stove are separate items, even though they are sold as one system for many buyers. The quote needs to cover the tent, stove, chimney set and accessories together.

Infrared sauna blanket

An infrared blanket is the lightest format to ship. The current range includes one, two and four-zone blankets in waterproof Oxford or PU, with hand or touch controllers. Heating wire, fabric, temperature range, timer and accessory list vary by model. A lower weight does not automatically mean a simpler project; the controller and electrical configuration still need approval.

How should a buyer choose between the formats?

The choice also changes the buyer. A garden or outdoor retailer may need a tent-and-stove system. A recovery or spa supplier may prefer a steam room. A marketplace or e-commerce seller may start with a blanket because it is easier to store and ship. Those are commercial distinctions, not medical claims.

What should the product page tell a buyer?

  • The heating method and the actual product format
  • The capacity, footprint or blanket dimensions
  • The controller, timer and electrical configuration
  • The full accessory list
  • Voltage and destination-market documents
  • The packed weight or carton profile where available

Compare formats before comparing specifications. A sauna blanket, a steam room and a stove-heated tent solve different retail briefs, and a mixed range needs a model-level quote for each line.
