Sauna MOQ Explained: Samples, Customisation and First Orders

MOQ is one of the first questions a sauna buyer asks, but a single number is rarely enough to plan an order. The minimum can depend on the product, the colour, the logo, the packaging and whether the buyer is choosing an existing model or asking for a structural change. A useful quotation explains what the minimum applies to.

Why sauna MOQ varies by product

A small accessory or stove does not consume the same production setup as a padded tent or a folding room. The current range therefore has different catalogue MOQs across the product groups. The number can also change when a buyer adds a custom logo, a private-label carton or a non-standard voltage. Always ask whether the quoted MOQ is for the plain model or the fully customised version.

Is the MOQ per model or for the whole order?

This distinction matters when a distributor wants a mixed range. A factory may be able to accept a total order target while still requiring a minimum quantity for each model or colour. A private-label run may also have a separate minimum for the packaging. Put the model-level split into the enquiry rather than sending one total quantity and waiting for a single blended answer.

Can a buyer start with a sample?

A sample is the practical way to approve a configuration before a wholesale order. Sampling in this range runs 7–15 days from the confirmed specification. A sample is not a substitute for the production MOQ, but it reduces the risk of committing a larger order to a fabric, controller, logo or packaging choice that has not been seen.

What should a first order plan include?

  • One primary model and one optional variant
  • Quantity split by model and colour
  • Plain stock versus logo or carton customisation
  • Sample approval date
  • Voltage and destination market
  • Target shipment date and preferred Incoterm
  • Whether repeat orders are expected, and at what frequency

Which MOQ questions should go into the enquiry?

Ask whether the MOQ applies per model, per colour, per logo or per carton design. Ask whether the quantity can be mixed across a family and whether the sample quantity counts toward the first order. Ask for the price break above the MOQ and the lead time at that next quantity. These questions produce a plan; a single number does not.

Treat MOQ as part of the specification, not a standalone field. The model, colour, logo, packaging, voltage and destination market all affect what the factory can quote.
